Deadline to Register for BEST is September 9

The deadline to register for Northeast Alabama BEST is approaching quickly! With Kick Off scheduled for September 17 this year our deadline to register is September 9 at 12 noon.

The lead teacher from each team will need to register and let us know how many you will bring to Kick Off Day. The link to register is https://www.eventbrite.com/custombutton?eid=25552732912. Once you have registered, please send an email to kennamerm@nacc.edu to confirm your registration.

This year's Kick Off will be held in the Beck Health and Fine Arts Building (gymnasium) on the campus of Northeast Alabama Community College. Doors will open at 8 am and the Kick Off will begin promptly at 8:30.

#paydirt2015 Kick Off Schedule Announced

Northeast Alabama BEST Robotics has announced details for Kick Off Day 2015, which will take place on Saturday, September 26 at the Tom Bevill Lyceum on the campus of Northeast Alabama Community College. Unlike previous years there will be no breakout workshop sessions on Kick Off Day. Instead, those workshops will be offered at Technical Training Day on September 30.

The general session will include topics of interest to everyone. The schedule for Kick Off Day is shown below.

11:00                    Kit Pick Up and Field Viewing (Each team gets 15 minutes on the field)

#Paydirt2015 Kits Are Ready!

The returnable kits are ready to be issued on kick off day, which will be here before we know it!
There are a few changes in the kits this year, including:

• programming hardware kit has been replaced with a USB cable
• new motion kit has replaced old skate wheel and belt and pulley kit

Also, look for minor changes in the consumable kit, which will be discussed on kick off day.

Speaking of kick off day, look for changes in the format of that day's schedule also. More details coming soon...

Kick Off Audience Video

Here is a video that hub co-director, Dr. Mike Kennamer shot on his iPhone from the stage just before the game for this year was revealed.Though the video is a little dark you can see that there was plenty of excitement in anticipation for this year's game.



This is Northeast Alabama BEST Robotics largest Kick Off with 12 teams and more than 300 students in attendance. It was held in the Tom Bevill Lyceum, a 750 seat auditorium on the campus of Northeast Alabama Community College.
